Gambling addiction or ludomania (from the Latin ludus – the game) these terms are called mental illness which is based on a pathological attraction to gambling (gambling in casino, gaming in computer clubs, sweepstakes and others). According to international classification of diseases it is a major sign of recurring part in the gambling that goes on and on, often widening despite the social consequences which can be such as poverty, destruction of family relationships and personal life.

It is believed that the gamblers are people who inclined only to easy money but it is not always the case. Amongst many players the competition element is being present more often.
Their self-esteem is determined by how they are able to achieve good results. Only success gives them a feeling of fullness of life, the realization itself.

How gambling addiction starts

Winning the game seems to be a very important for the player and it is a way to prove that he/she is worth something, and it brings him/her the moral satisfaction. However, the player feels it only if he/she got the desired results on its own, and not someone else’s help. Such autonomy is a symbol for the player of merit, power and ability to win.

They normally begin to play out of curiosity within the company of friends for entertainment, recreation and easy way of avoiding problems but not only for earning. Many of them want to “turn off the brain” from daily cares in order to experience unusual emotions and get rid of loneliness, boredom and monotony of existence.

However, many do not think that the price of dramatic passionate game is not money only but sometimes mental health and even life.
Retraction of the game is fast, sometimes within a few weeks. If people start winning they are likely to think that luck will accompany them always. Playing games they begin to spend more and more energy and would like for it to receive the award in the form of a significant cash prize, but the loss is guaranteed but the gain is likely to occur. The loss hurts the ego and gives rise to feelings of guilt and resentment and anger and an attempt at any cost to achieve the desired result, and, consequently, incites passion.

Of course, not all people become pathological gamblers out of those who play with a relatively cool head. These people are self-sufficient and have a high level of self-control. Spending a very little time for the game not making big bets they play a certain amount to allow themselves to leave the lost gaming money in the casino. They play only for recreation and not pursuing selfish and ambitious goals/ These people are able to react cool when they win and not to dramatize the loss.

But once they find the necessary amount of money and come across to the gaming hall they turn on the game trance that makes them think only about the game and nothing else. Under the influence of a strong and compulsive gamers are subtly clever inventing a variety of ways to get money to start the next game. For a long time, they kept secret the passion so it is extremely difficult to recognize that they are having this problem.
